Vegetarian Chicken Varuval (dry)

Since Aunty Mary is visiting us today for some prayers, Mom has decided to cook her rare Madras style Vegetarian Chicken Varuval (the dry style). I thought it would be a great idea to share the recipe.

Madras style Vegetarian Chicken Varuval (dry)
Ingredient:
1 packet vegetarian chicken
4 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
2 tbsp curry powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
10 dried chilies (cut into pieces)
10 shallots (shredded)
2 pc cinnamon stick
4 pc cardamoms
2 pc star anise
black pepper and salt
oil for frying

Method:
1. Fry the vegetarian chicken till golden brown and set aside
2. Sauté the spices, onion, ginger-garlic paste and dried chilly
3. Add curry powder, turmeric powder & salt
4. Add the vegetarian chicken and stir well. Add black pepper
5. Best eaten with rice or as morning breakfast with tosai
